Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Design Manager and Senior BIM Lead to lead and coordinate the design development process across multiple modular construction projects. This role will require close collaboration with internal departments, external consultants, and client representatives to ensure technically robust, compliant, and efficient design delivery from concept through to construction. This role manages a multidisciplinary team.
The role is based, at our HQ in Dunshaughlin, five days per week, with the option of working remotely each Wednesday.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead the design process across multiple projects from early-stage concept to construction-ready detail.
Manage a multidisciplinary team, providing support and guidance to team members, while disseminating workload.
Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, consultants, suppliers, and clients for all design-related matters.
Oversee coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, and manufacturing design disciplines.
Ensure design output complies with relevant Building Regulations, planning requirements, and statutory approvals.
Experience in Building Control regulations in Northern Ireland and the UK is an advantage.
Provide expertise and coordinate with internal departments across construction and manufacturing on design and build timelines and requirements.
Work with the in-house Quality and Compliance team and external support consultants to achieve NSAI ISO 19650 BIM Accreditation, stage 2, using the common data environment (CDE) – Autodesk forma Build, Forma Design Collaboration and Forma Data Management.
Ensure the success of the ISO 19650 stage 2 audit to achieve the certification by way of application, assessment, re‑assessment, surveillance cycle and accreditation in BIM.
Support and ensure BIM implementation across Cpac and support continuous Cpac operation of this standard in the BIM area.
Help to achieve Irish industry recognition as a top leading Modular firm in BIM compliance.
Review and sign off design drawings, specifications, schedules, and BIM models.
Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining design integrity and compliance.
Manage design risks, identify clashes, and resolve technical issues early.
Ensure all designs are aligned with CPAC Modular’s manufacturing, transport, and installation capabilities.
Support pre-construction and estimating teams with technical input and buildability assessments.
Contribute to continuous improvement across the design process and company standards.
Skills Required
Education:
Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related discipline
BIM certifications – advantageous
Intermediate knowledge of Revit, Tekla and Navisworks is required. Expert knowledge is an advantage.
Experience:
10+ years previous experience in Construction Design.
Previous experience in personnel management and mentoring is essential.
Experience using a variety of IT software packages.
Experience in coordinating external audits (ISO 19650) would be a distinct advantage.
