The Mercantile Group, one of Irelands leading hospitality companies, is looking for a
Trainee Accountant
to join our growing finance team.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Support the year-end audit process, including audit file preparation and liaising with external auditors.
* Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
* Assist with the reconciliation of bank accounts, cash, and credit card transactions.
* Provide day-to-day support across core finance functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
What You Bring
* A relevant Level 8 degree (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Business).
* A genuine interest in pursuing a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or similar).
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks.
* A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Previous relevant work or placement experience is an advantage but not essential.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
