Basic Grade Physiologist – GI Physiology
Full Time Permanent
Bon Secours Hospital Cork has a busy and rapidly growing Gastroenterology Department with full endoscopy services. The hospital provides comprehensive GI function testing including High Resolution Manometry, combined pH and impedance testing, and Hydrogen and Methane Breath Testing.
Qualifications
BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technology University Dublin or Dublin Institute of Technology.
Level 8 equivalent scientific qualification confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Science (IICMS).
For those qualified before 2005: Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent confirmed by IICMS.
Post‑qualification experience in Gastroenterology Physiology is a distinct advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with management, consultants, staff, patients and visitors.
Responsibilities
Perform and analyse GI function tests, including high resolution manometry, pH/impedance testing and breath tests.
Support the Gastroenterology Department’s endoscopy services and ensure high quality patient care.
Collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary team to interpret test results and support patient management.
Maintain accurate and updated patient records.
