In Ireland, Abbott employs over 6,000 people across ten sites. We have seven manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Kilkenny, Longford, and Sligo, along with a third-party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. Abbott also has commercial, support operations, and shared services in Dublin and Galway. We have been operating in Ireland since 1946.

Our broad range of vascular devices—including vessel closure, endovascular, and coronary technologies—are used to treat vessel diseases of the heart, carotid arteries, and peripheral blood vessels. These conditions can lead to heart attack, stroke, critical limb ischemia, and other serious vascular issues.
Purpose of the Job
Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in Quality Engineering and Data Management. Responsible for executing complex projects, analyzing data, and ensuring quality standards are met. Acts as liaison across departments and may lead projects or teams.
Major Responsibilities
* Instruct, direct, and check work of other quality assurance professionals.
* Apply quality principles and analyze quality reports to recommend improvements.
* Conduct inspections, verifications, and validations of components or materials.
* Identify and address recurring quality or testing issues.
* Document quality issues and performance metrics for management.
* Coordinate with external vendors as needed.
Education & Competencies
* Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline plus 4+ years of experience, or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of technical principles, practices, and cross-group dependencies.
* Ability to analyze diverse data and exercise judgment within policies.
* Establish and maintain support networks; mentor less experienced staff; lead projects.
* Plan and organize non-routine tasks; exercise judgment in problem-solving.
* Work independently under general direction; evaluate performance and provide guidance to staff.
