Working within the R&D network, the Associate Scientist will design and execute concentrate formulations, ensure data accuracy across systems, and support the successful progression of projects from development through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute concentrate formulations for Innovation and reformulation projects, ensuring alignment with technical requirements for specific beverage formulations.
Apply understanding of ingredient functionality (e.g., sweeteners, acids, stabilizers, flavors) to optimize formulation performance.
Build and maintain accurate, audit-ready formulation data, ensuring consistency across systems (e.g., ingredient quantities, specifications and processing instructions; ensuring alignment across systems and implementing updates as needed).
Evaluate concentrate formulations, including sensory and analytical assessment (e.g., appearance, aroma, taste, pH, Brix, etc.).
Identify and resolve discrepancies in formulation data, always ensuring data integrity.
Support scale‑up activities and troubleshoot formulation or process‑related challenges.
Interpret test results, write technical reports and effectively communicate information within the organization.
Prepare, label, store, and manage concentrate samples, ensuring full traceability (code, version, date, status).
Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams (e.g., Product Development, Supply Chain, Quality) to support project delivery.
Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience in food, beverage, or ingredient manufacturing.
Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques relevant for food or beverage applications.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and geographically distributed teams.
Experience with Optiva, SAP, or similar systems is a strong plus.
