Thank you for your patience.Engineering Manager, Maintenance and ReliabilityApply locations: Ireland-Limerick | Time type: Full time | Posted on: Posted 5 Days Ago | Job requisition id: Req-42388The Manager of Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance and Reliability is responsible for leading and coordinating a team of skilled equipment maintenance and reliability technicians and engineers who provide critical support to manufacturing operations at the site. This role ensures that production equipment, processes, and systems are maintained at optimal performance levels to meet production needs, quality standards, and safety requirements. The manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, oversee technical troubleshooting, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support efficient and reliable manufacturing.The Manager of Production Maintenance will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of skilled equipment maintenance and reliability technicians and engineers who provide critical support to manufacturing operations at the site. This role ensures that production equipment, processes, and systems are maintained at optimal performance levels to meet production needs, quality standards, and safety requirements. The manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, oversee technical troubleshooting, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support efficient and reliable manufacturing.How you'll make an impact:Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production support technicians and engineersEstablish and maintain a robust cross-training plan to ensure technical skill redundancy across the organizationOversee daily technical support activities to ensure maximum equipment efficiencyDevelop and optimize maintenance programs, troubleshooting protocols, and other maintenance best practicesCollaborate with engineering and production teams to support new equipment installations, validation work, upgrades, spare parts management, and process improvementsMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment uptime, response time, and technician productivityManage service contracts and experience of managing external vendorsEnsure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standardsManage staffing, training, and development plans for the technician team across 2 shiftsMaintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and technical proceduresEstablish proactive equipment reliability and planning schedules to maximize production uptimeSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment or process issuesWorking knowledge of calibration and validation practices preferredWhat you'll need (Required):Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentWhat else we look for (Preferred):Experience in a leadership or supervisory roleExperience working in a regulated industryAbility to manage technical disciplines and demonstrated informal mentoring and/or peer leadership skillsProven successful project management skillsProven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and related systemsExcellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision makingExcellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectivesExtensive understanding of manufacturing processes and/or critical support systemsBasic financial acumen related to equipment purchasing/consumables managementSkill set to manage small teams and provide coaching and feedback, including employee actions and partnering with HR on employee relationsAbility to influence cross-functional partnersAbility to integrate metrics into projects and operationsAttention to detailAbility to interact professionally across organizational levels and escalate issues appropriatelyAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environmentAdherence to company rules and safety protocols to prevent injuries and environmental harmAbout UsEdwards Lifesciences is a global leader in patient-focused medical innovations for structural heart disease, critical care, and surgical monitoring.
