Job Description
The Accounts Assistant role supports the finance function by ensuring timely and accurate execution of all finance-related tasks.
Core Priorities:
1. Hands-on finance experience in manufacturing or distribution.
2. Must understand stock movements, batch numbers, SKUs, and landed costs.
3. Proven high-volume transactional accuracy.
4. Competence in AR/AP/general ledger reconciliation at pace and under pressure.
5. Multi-currency processing (EUR/GBP/USD).
System Proficiency:
* Sage 200 (or similar) and Excel.
* Familiarity with ERP environments and confidence in Excel for reports and reconciliations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Dispatch stock from the system using batch numbers.
2. Process all customer invoices.
3. Issue all monthly customer statements.
4. Credit control / maintain debtor ledgers.
5. Verify delivery costs to customers.
6. Prepare monthly sales reports.
7. Manage debtor insurance in line with customer limits.
8. Company credit card maintenance.
9. Analyse data and create accurate reports as required.
Essentials:
* Minimum 5 years finance admin experience (AP/AR/general ledger) within a manufacturing/distribution company.
* Understanding of stock flows, batch/lot numbers, logistics, and landed cost verification.
* Familiarity with supply chain management.
* Multi-currency exposure (EUR/GBP/USD minimum).
* Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage 200 (or similar ERP).
* Proven track record of managing high-volume transactions accurately under pressure.
* Demonstrated ownership proactively chasing payments, flagging errors, resolving discrepancies.
* Excellent communication skills across departments (Sales, Purchasing, Logistics).
* Knowledge of VIES, Intrastat, and Triangulation.
