Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity at Sonas-Technical
We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Cork, Ireland.
This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful projects across various sectors, including energy, commercial, public sector, and civil infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Geotechnical team on energy, roads, and commercial projects.
* Contribute to all phases of projects, including conceptual design, site investigation, detailed design, and on-site monitoring.
* Support senior engineers in developing designs that meet current regulations and standards.
* Prepare project-related documentation such as drawings, reports, and specifications.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and attend meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
* Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
* Plan and manage geotechnical investigations, encompassing fieldwork and laboratory testing.
* Produce geotechnical reports, including factual, interpretive, and baseline studies.
* Draft design basis memoranda and work closely with CAD Technicians to create technical reports and specifications.
* Participate in bid analysis and ensure project alignment with industry standards.
Requirements:
* 2–5 years of experience in a geotechnical engineering role.
* Degree in Engineering (Level 8 or 9) from an accredited program.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting tools. Strong understanding of EN standards and industry best practices.
* Attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Full Category B driving license. Familiarity with government contract documentation (an advantage).
