Job Description
Due to continued expansion in the Domestic Construction Market, Jones Engineering require a Commercial Manager with an Electrical background to join the Electrical Commercial Team to oversee several of our upcoming overseas projects. The role will require some intermittent travel to our overseas sites but will be predominantly based in the Collinstown Office. This an opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Manager to grow their career with support and guidance from Senior Management. The successful candidate will report directly to the Group Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities
Provide support to Construction Team and Project Quantity Surveying on functions including, but not limited to the following: ensuring compliance with contract obligations and providing advice and monitoring to the construction team.
Identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting to management.
Oversee monthly progress applications, ensuring they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day‑works or claims.
Procurement – operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department.
Oversee subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
Manage and forecast turnover and cash flow of the projects.
Review and commercial manage the project, ensuring accurate and reliable reporting.
Identify, analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects.
Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and/or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and initiate replies.
Manage the commercial team across all of our projects consisting of Senior, Intermediate and Junior QS’s.
All other duties associated with this role.
Key Skills / Requirements
Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics.
Previous experience with an M&E Contractor is essential.
Minimum 8+ years’ experience post qualification is essential.
Experience in an Electrical role required.
Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi‑functional team.
Excellent IT Skills.
Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
