Inventory Planning Specialist
The role of Inventory Planning Specialist is a crucial position within our organization. It requires the ability to analyze and optimize inventory levels, ensuring that goods are available when needed while minimizing excess stock.
This dynamic planning role will provide ownership of contract manufacturing planning activities. Working with multiple teams, you will execute all activities and be the primary point of contact for escalations. Additional ad hoc support duties will be required for the wider inventory team.
Responsibilities
- Contract Manufacturing Management
- Execute daily planning activities associated with Contract Manufacturing Partners
- Detailed and accurate response to Material Requirements Planning signals
- Analysis of purchase requisitions and conversion to Purchase Orders and Stock Transfer Orders
- Responding to exception messages, i.e., expedites / postponements
- Open order book management and close-out process - end of period, quarter, year
- Replicate key SAP transactions on our system
- Ensure accurate, timely processes are in place so our system correctly reflects contract manufacturing inventory
- Manage escalations from Customer Services and Inventory on issues identified with Contract Manufacturing processes
- Monitoring accuracy of Supplier Shipping / Order documentation
- Coordinate resolution of documentation issues
- Liaise with suppliers to determine accurate, up-to-date stock levels including Safety Stock setting
- Proactive management of Material Reserve risks and issues
- Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance with key KPI's
- Raise non-conformance reports where service issues arise and need to be escalated to Plant Procurement for resolution
- Raise non-conformation reports where damaged product is received and quality investigation is required
- Ad hoc Inventory team support duties
Supplier communications:
- Weekly documented calls with suppliers. Minutes to be distributed to stakeholders
- Bi-Annual visit to Contract Manufacturing sites for onsite stock takes. Documented visits with minutes to be distributed to stakeholders
- Work with suppliers to determine impact on our inventory levels following any quality issues
- Communication of innovations and new set-ups
- Meet all internal & external compliance responsibilities, including Purchasing Policy requirements
- Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in use of SAP and Microsoft Excel, Macros, Power BI, and Analysis for Office
- Strong supply chain experience in a dynamic multinational organization (desirable)
- Excellent MRP and analytical skills, with a proven ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks, with strong attention to detail
- Results-oriented and commitment to achieving objectives
- Ability to work on own initiative to meet timelines
- Excellent Customer Awareness and customer focus
- Third-level qualification in Supply Chain or related discipline
- Excellent numerical skills an advantage
