Assistant Category Manager (JN -012025-410684) Dublin North, Republic of Ireland

Salary: EUR47000 - EUR48000 per annum

Are you ready to take your career to the next level in the fast-paced world of category management? Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Category Manager to join their team, primarily focusing on maximising commercial opportunities in FMCG retail platforms.

Location: Dublin 22
Own Transport Required
Salary: €47,500-€48,000

Position Summary:
As the Assistant Category Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Category Manager to develop and implement a strategic rolling business plan aimed at optimising sales and achieving key financial targets. Your role will be pivotal in building and maintaining strong, sustainable relationships with vendors while consistently delivering value to the client consumer division.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and manage a rolling monthly/quarterly promotional plan to ensure alignment with KPIs.
2. Qualify product nominations and promotional details for monthly presentations to the Client Head Office team.
3. Conduct regular stock and sales analysis in partnership with the Client team to ensure effective stock management.
4. Collaborate with the Client Category Manager and Consumer Vendor Manager to evaluate new vendor partnerships and product opportunities.
5. Oversee the end-to-end process of product selection, ensuring timely execution and sign-off by the client.
6. Work alongside the Client Category team to establish a robust exit strategy following promotional end dates.
7. Facilitate meetings with key vendors to communicate promotional opportunities and timelines effectively.
8. Manage point-of-sale and merchandising briefs to ensure complete and accurate promotional delivery.
9. Play a crucial role in the design, funding, and approval processes for all point-of-sale materials produced for in-store execution.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a category management environment, ideally within the FMCG sector.
2. Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to drive results.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
4. A relevant business degree is advantageous.
5. Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, with a strong emphasis on communication and integrity.
6. Exceptional organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks without losing focus.
7. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
