We are currently seeking an experienced Head Nurse to lead and manage clinical operations across Ambulatory and Dialysis services. This leadership position plays a key role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care, clinical governance, and service growth within a nationwide ambulatory care setting. The successful candidate will combine strong clinical expertise, particularly in renal nursing, with strategic business and people management capabilities. Key Responsibilities Provide inspirational leadership to nursing teams across the ambulatory care channel. Oversee clinical governance and ensure safe, evidence-based care delivery. Manage operational budgets and oversee Profit & Loss responsibilities for nursing services. Drive continuous quality improvement, KPI achievement, and patient safety. Support existing business and contribute to business development including tender opportunities. Serve as Clinic Manager for a dialysis unit, ensuring compliance with HIQA and relevant standards. Represent nursing interests at Clinical Governance Boards and national events. Develop and implement SOPs and ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance. Collaborate across divisions to enhance customer service, marketing integration, and legal compliance. Promote workforce planning, succession strategies, and staff retention in partnership with HR. Candidate Requirements Qualifications: Registered Nurse with active NMBI registration. Postgraduate qualification in Renal Nursing (or equivalent). Teaching & assessing or mentorship qualification. Leadership qualification (or willingness to obtain within 12 months). Experience: Recent line management experience within a healthcare setting. Strong understanding of commercial operations and P&L management. Experience in training/coaching and leading clinical teams. Experience in tender preparation and/or business development desirable. Skills & Competencies: Excellent leadership and team motivation skills. Strong clinical decision-making and risk management. Highly organized, autonomous, and solutions-driven. Conflict resolution, change management, and performance coaching. IT proficient (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Other Requirements: Full valid driving licence. Flexibility to travel regularly across Ireland. Willingness to stay overnight occasionally.
