Project Oversight and Execution
A key position for a seasoned project manager, responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of infrastructure projects. This role requires a high degree of organizational and leadership skills to ensure timely completion within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Schedule Development: Utilize Microsoft Project to create comprehensive schedules based on contract scope and deliverables, maintaining and monitoring project programs, and issuing regular updates to stakeholders.
* Issue Management: Identify and document delays affecting critical paths, liaising with clients to agree on time extensions when necessary.
* Cost Control: Evaluate project budgets against pricing to guarantee cost-effective delivery within financial targets, investigate potential cost overruns, identify causes, and recommend corrective actions.
* Commercial Matters: Collaborate with Contracts Managers on all commercial aspects.
* Scope Management: Maintain awareness of contract inclusions and identify project scope changes or variations, supporting negotiations with clients for additional works or costs.
* Contract Compliance: Ensure timely issuance of contractual notifications as per contract conditions.
* Site Management: Act as direct line manager for Site Agents, QS, and Project Engineers, overseeing on-site personnel via Site Agents.
* Financial Management: Review and validate monthly valuations and progress payment claims.
* HSE and Quality: Approve Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and relevant health and safety documentation prior to project commencement, conduct routine quality checks, and site safety inspections.
Requirements:
* Experience: Prior experience managing civil engineering or infrastructure projects, preferably with exposure to utilities or road-based works.
* Skill Set: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project, full clean driving license required.
* Educational Background: A background in civil engineering or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
