An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team (MDT) in a Care of the Elderly facility in Birr, Co. Offaly. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive environment with both long-term care residents and rehabilitation patients.
As a Senior OT, you will work alongside a Senior Speech and Language Therapist and a Senior Physiotherapist, providing high-quality care to elderly patients. The facility includes rehabilitation beds, which are supported by a Consultant Geriatrician, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient recovery and wellbeing.
This is a full time 35 hour week spread across Monday – Friday, plus free onsite parking, incremental pay-scale, generous annual leave entitlement and CPD opportunties.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions for elderly patients.
* Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to promote functional independence.
* Work collaboratively within the MDT to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
* Support rehabilitation patients in regaining independence through goal-oriented therapy.
* Educate patients, families, and caregivers on best practices for mobility, ADLs, and cognitive function.
* Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
* A degree in Occupational Therapy and CORU registration.
* Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience.
* Experience working in elderly care, rehabilitation, or similar settings.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
* A passion for supporting older adults to maintain independence and quality of life.
