Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Clinical Specialist
Location: Cavan
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Salary: HSE Payscale – Competitive Hourly Rates Depending on Experience
Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a respected acute hospital in Cavan to recruit a Staff Grade CORU registered Occupational Therapist.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, CORU registered Occupational Therapist, who's eager to expand their clinical expertise working with older adults.
In this role, you'll work with patients aged 65 years, across general and medical wards. You'll gain invaluable experience in a dynamic environment that supports continuous learning and professional development.
Clinical Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough OT assessments and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment plans
2. Lead on functional rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, and discharge planning
3. Deliver high-quality care across a range of clinical areas including medical, surgical, stroke, and frailty
4. Participate in MDT meetings, care planning, and patient education
5. Contribute to quality improvement, audit and service development initiatives
6. Supervise junior staff and support professional development where appropriate
7. Maintain accurate, professional clinical documentation in line with HSE and CORU standards
Essential Requirements
1. CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist
2. Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience
3. Experience in an acute, hospital, rehabilitation or community setting
4. Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical reasoning skills
5. Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to a fast-paced hospital setting
