Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading precision manufacturing company to recruit a CAD/CAM Offline Programmer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, high-tech organisation where you’ll be working on complex projects across medical device and aerospace components.
The Role
As a CAD/CAM Offline Programmer, you will play a key role in designing, testing, and optimising CNC programs for milling and turning machines. Working to tight tolerances across a variety of metals and polymers, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Develop, test, and optimise CNC programs for milling and turning operations.
Interpret 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications to generate efficient tool paths.
Select cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and strategies for machining metals (stainless steel, titanium, aluminium) and polymers (PEEK, acetal, polycarbonate).
Troubleshoot machining/programming issues and improve cycle times, tool life, and surface finishes.
Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and GMP standards.
Maintain accurate records of programs, setups, and process improvements.
About You
Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer in high-precision manufacturing (medical device or aerospace preferred).
Skilled in CAD/CAM software such as SolidCAM, HyperMill, or Esprit (or equivalent).
Strong understanding of CNC precision machining (milling and/or turning).
Hands-on knowledge of metals and engineering polymers.
Experience working with tight tolerances (±0.02mm or better) and complex geometries.
Familiar with GD&T, 3D modelling, and interpreting engineering drawings.
Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and excellent teamwork/communication skills.
