Technical Writer - Unannounced Project at Scopely
Location options: Barcelona on a hybrid basis (3 days a week from the hub), Dublin on a hybrid/remote basis, or Ireland, Spain, Portugal and the UK on a remote basis.
What You Will Do
Develop and Maintain Internal Documentation: Create clear, concise, and accurate documentation for our internal game team, including design documents, technical specifications, process guides, and internal knowledge base articles
Establish Documentation Standards: Define and enforce consistent style guides, templates, and best practices for all internal documentation, ensuring uniformity and ease of use
Lead Documentation Projects: Manage the entire lifecycle of internal documentation projects, from planning and content creation to review, publication, and ongoing maintenance
Collaborate with Game Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and other subject matter experts within the game team to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy and relevance to internal workflows
Improve Information Architecture: Design intuitive and easily navigable documentation structures for internal knowledge bases, leveraging experience and AI tooling where appropriate to optimize content discoverability
Implement Documentation Tools: Evaluate, recommend, and implement tools and technologies to streamline the internal documentation process, with a focus on automation and efficiency
Train and Mentor: Provide guidance and training to game team members on documentation best practices, fostering a culture of clear and consistent knowledge sharing
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in technical writing or documentation management, ideally within a technical creative industry, for example VFX or games
Strong understanding of information architecture and content management principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable content
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts
Familiarity with various documentation tools and content management systems
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
