NeoDyne is seeking an experienced DeltaV Automation Engineer to support one of our key client sites on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will work closely with the NeoDyne team and play a critical role in delivering automation expertise across the Dublin based site.
As an Automation Engineer supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, you will be part of a multidisciplinary Engineering team within a highly automated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The role focuses on delivering automation design and implementation activities, working closely with Process, CQV, and Project Engineering teams to ensure robust, compliant automation solutions are delivered in line with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities Execute assigned automation scope as part of the Automation NPI Project Team, ensuring alignment with project schedules, standards, and quality requirements.
Collaborate with Process SMEs, CQV Leads, and Automation Engineers to capture, review, and translate process requirements into automation solutions.
Provide technical input into Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and participate in formal design reviews.
Support Functional Design approval and ensure automation deliverables meet defined requirements.
Develop and implement Automation Change Packs (ACPs), including required control system code modifications.
Participate in internal and client automation reviews, addressing technical queries and supporting issue resolution.
Required Experience Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
5+ years' experience as an Automation Engineer within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Proven experience working in GMP-regulated facilities.
Strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV, including S88 batch concepts.
Demonstrated experience across the automation project lifecycle, from design through implementation and commissioning.
Experience supporting Automation Compliance Lifecycle and Change Management activities.
Strong technical documentation skills, including contribution to Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Desired / Nice to Have Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
Plant commissioning and start-up experience.
Working knowledge of ISA-88 / ISA-95 standards.
Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 regulatory requirements.
Experience with DeltaV Continuous Process Systems (CPS) and SCADA platforms.
Prior experience working on large-scale, highly automated manufacturing sites.
