Role / Department
The role is for a Compliance Consultant based in Limerick who supports the Irish Fund Management Company and the wider EMEA asset‑management business. The consultant will focus on compliance monitoring, frameworks, regulatory change projects and will assess laws and regulations that impact asset‑management entities in the EMEA region. The position reports to the Head of Compliance of the Irish Fund Management Company and offers hands‑on exposure and career development in an asset‑management‑based compliance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Head of Compliance for the Fund Management Company on key compliance initiatives, frameworks, documentation, regulatory liaison and monitoring.
Work proactively with business contacts and management to identify and implement practical and efficient solutions.
Review marketing materials to support cross‑border sales activity and the sales and relationship management team.
Familiarise with Northern Trust Asset Management’s strategy, businesses, clients and products in order to provide timely and accurate regulatory and compliance advice.
Analyse and provide technical research and consultation to support risk and compliance programmes and initiatives.
Develop and implement training programmes with subject‑matter experts.
Provide ad‑hoc project support as required.
Back‑up the wider compliance team when required, for example reviewing marketing materials or monitoring activity.
Skills / Qualifications
Asset‑management experience, preferably in compliance or risk management; or equivalent related experience.
Knowledge of Irish and international regulations such as CBI, MiFID II, UCITS.
Working knowledge of cross‑border regulatory frameworks and rules.
Marketing compliance knowledge is an advantage.
Understanding of investment‑management products and services.
Prior experience of UCITS fund structures.
Analytical ability to identify and understand problems and provide effective collaborative solutions.
Highly motivated, initiative‑driven, and proven at resolving problems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
