Job Description
The MCS Group is seeking a highly skilled Web Content Manager to partner with the Northern Ireland Assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of a user-centred Assembly website, collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders.
* Manage a team of two web publishers, including planning, prioritising, allocating, monitoring, and evaluating their work.
* Oversee the management of the Assembly website's content management system, including publication of content, maintenance of templates, workflow paths, and user access accounts.
* Manage other Assembly micro-sites, including design, maintenance, security, workflow paths, and user access accounts.
* Manage content publishing to the Assembly's intranet, page layouts, templates, workflow paths, and user access accounts.
* Conduct content audits to eliminate outdated, redundant, or duplicate content.
* Analyse analytics data to identify meaningful improvements and ensure websites are responsive to user needs.
* Exploit data within the Assembly's content-rich Assembly Information Management System (AIMS).
* Develop Search Engine Optimisation strategies to optimise keywords for easy content retrieval.
* Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance matters, specifically adherence to Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
* Work closely with staff across the Communications Office and Assembly Commission to ensure effective content planning, delivery, and implementation.
* Provide web publishing advice and training to colleagues throughout the organisation.
* Co-operate with Assembly Commission IS Office staff to maintain effective website services.
* Comply with all Assembly Commission policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work policies and procedures.
* Manage information and records in accordance with established policies and statutory requirements.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in any subject with significant web design/digital media components or Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Media, Computing, or Information Technology, plus at least 2 years' experience in managing web teams, enterprise-level content management systems, and website administration.
* Knowledge of Accessibility Checker tools and use of HTML, Markdown, CSS, Java Script, Google Tag Manager, and Adobe products.
* Experience in project management relevant to website development, including working with stakeholders and users on content creation and website design, structure, and functionality.
