Job Purpose:
Providing a range of supports to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This role involves identifying goals and implementing measures to achieve outcomes within the framework of an Autism Support Service.
Reporting to a NLN Centre Manager and in consultation with the Health Service Executive, the role includes managing a referred client group, developing working relationships, encouraging client participation, assessing skill levels, exploring person-centred goals, and identifying support needs.
Additional duties include supporting clients to engage with their communities, connect with support networks, and participate in capacity-building activities.
Minimum Education & Experience Required:
* Hold a third-level qualification at least at degree standard in Education, Social Care, Psychology, or have equivalent relevant work experience.
* At least 2 years of experience working with people with ASD.
* Experience maintaining relationships with stakeholders in service provision.
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
* Manage a referred client group, including planning, work allocation, record-keeping, and meetings.
* Develop trusting relationships, foster confidence, and encourage client participation.
* Assess skill levels, explore person-centred goals, and identify support requirements for each client.
* Support clients in identifying how they wish to live, spend their time, engage with their communities, and connect with future support networks.
