Health and Safety Officer Ireland, Denmark, Sweden Excellent package with numerous additional benefits and opportunities for career progression Based in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, working on large-scale residential and commercial projects A leading Irish building contractor is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join their team, working on large-scale residential and commercial construction projects in locations such as Ireland, Denmark, Sweden.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the project team in the implementation of world-class safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring, and auditing Health & Safety procedures and policies across multiple projects Coordinate Health & Safety committee activities, including weekly and monthly meetings Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation Promote a positive Health & Safety culture through training, awareness, and engagement Represent the company during external audits, inspections, and regulatory visits Liaise with Health & Safety authorities and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, near misses, and corrective actions Stay informed on relevant changes in legislation and best practices Conduct Health & Safety inductions for all new employees and subcontractors Identify ongoing Health & Safety training needs across project teams Review subcontractor safety statements and assess compliance with company standards Support continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance on all sites Necessary Skills and Requirements: Third-level education in recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred) Minimum of 5 years of Health and Safety experience with a main contractor in Europe A qualification in manual handling instruction would be an advantage Experience in leading and conducting risk assessments Knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 systems Ability to deliver training modules (first aid, manual handling, fire warden, etc.)
