Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned Occupational Safety Specialist to join our Environmental Health & Safety team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance to ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements related to safety, as well as our corporate standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
* Support General Safety and High Risk Work Programs as Subject Matter Expert (SME).
* Assist in Environmental Programs, including Air, Water, and Waste initiatives.
* Provide safety support for new and ongoing projects.
* Participate in local safety teams, audits, inspections, incident investigations, and other safety programs as required.
* Represent EHS on risk assessments, change management impact assessments, training delivery, and contractor management.
* Evaluate and audit EHS processes and systems against global safety and environment standards.
* Report weekly to management and department teams on EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with objectives and targets.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, or a related field such as Safety or Environmental Studies.
* +7 years of experience in EHS, Engineering, or Operations, preferably in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, petrochemical, or process-related industry.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish H&S and Environmental Legislation and regulations.
* Experience with High Risk Work programs and Contractor Management is beneficial.
* Ability to analyze details and maintain focus on key goals and priorities.
* Proven track record of success in the EHS sector.
