Our client, a well-established organisation, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join their finance team on a part-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional to take ownership of day-to-day accounting functions while contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department. This part time role will ideally be 5 hours per day (25 hours per week), 5 days per week working on site in their office. This role will work very closely with the Finance Director. Key Responsibilities: Set up and maintain debtor and creditor accounts Manage credit control activities, ensuring timely receipt of payments Liaise with customers and resolve invoice-related queries Process cash receipts, customer payments, and bank lodgements Input, review, and maintain vendor invoices Prepare payment runs and process payments through online banking Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns Process VIES and Intrastat returns Post monthly journals within the accounting system Maintain multi-currency exchange rates Ensure accurate and organised financial filing systems Liaise with external auditors and prepare audit documentation Requirements: AAT qualification (preferred) 1-2 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounts role Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team Flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently If you are interested in discussing this Part Time position based in Cork, please get in touch with me for a confidential chat.
