Team/Role Overview
The Legal Regulatory Inventory Officer is an intermediate level, non-attorney role, responsible for providing legal support to the Citi Legal team. You will be a member of Citi's Regulatory Requirements and Obligation Program, specializing in Banking and Consumer Protection. Your key responsibility will be drafting content for Citi's Financial Regulatory Inventory to ensure it reflects the latest laws, rules, and regulations impacting Citi's operations. The role requires a pragmatic, proactive professional with a strong legal and/or compliance background, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience in financial services is required; knowledge of technology, data privacy, and securities regulation is beneficial.
What you’ll do
1. Execute legal programs and projects to improve processes and support legal solutions; collaborate with control and functional teams.
2. Conduct research and analysis on legal matters, applying institutional knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
3. Assess risks associated with different products and documentation, advising the Risk function and business units accordingly.
4. Maintain detailed records and stay updated on regulatory and legal developments.
5. Engage with senior leaders and peers to gather information and determine legal strategies.
6. Assess risks in business decisions, safeguarding Citi's reputation, clients, and assets.
What we’ll need from you
* Relevant experience with financial services regulations.
* Strong organizational skills to manage complex documentation.
* Excellent interpersonal and project management skills, with effective communication with senior management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Deep understanding of legal practices and the financial services industry.
* Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
