Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Nursing Home, Wexford Position: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Location: Co. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced, motivated ADON to join our leadership team and support the Person in Charge / Director of Nursing. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing clinical and operational functions, leading nursing and care staff, and ensuring that resident care meets the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Support the Person in Charge/DON in day-to-day management of clinical and nursing operations. Provide leadership, supervision and mentorship to nursing and care staff. Ensure resident care is person-centred, safe and in line with relevant standards and regulations (e.g. HIQA Standards). Promote a culture of respect, dignity, and quality across the home. Contribute to quality improvement, audits, clinical governance and documentation. Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience, including management experience at Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) level or equivalent in a nursing home / older-person care setting. Strong knowledge of HIQA Standards and relevant legislation / regulations governing residential care settings. Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. Desirable: Management qualification (e.g. QQI Level 6 in Management) or working toward one.
