Are you looking to start your career as a Manufacturing Technician in a fast-paced growing med tech Company?
If so, Aerogen have an apprentice opportunity for you where you will get hands on experience while studying part time for your (Level 6) Manufacturing Technician qualification. This is a 2-year apprenticeship program in partnership with the Irish MedTech Association & IBEC with classroom education in TUS Midwest and industry experience at Aerogen’s Manufacturing site in Shannon. You will be provided with a mentor who will support you during your training.
What is the role? As an Apprentice Technician, you will have the opportunity to support senior technicians in the maintenance, repair and installation of equipment or systems, while gaining hands on experience and completing formal apprenticeship training and successfully achieving the practical skills and technical knowledge and grades required to become a fully qualified manufacturing technician.
What are the key responsibilities? • Work with the Manufacturing team (Production, Engineering and Quality) to manage and prioritise assignments ensuring product quality and production schedule are met.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults in machinery, systems manufacturing equipment.
• Support, participate in the installation, service or testing under the supervision of a qualified technician.
• Consistently follow health and safety procedures, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to site safety standards.
• Participate proactively in the job training.
• Attend off the job training and achieve required grades to progress apprenticeship.
• Keep tools, equipment, and workspace clean and organised
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and cross functional teams where required.
• Support safety culture, initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
What education and experience are required? • Pass (Grade 06 or better) in five ordinary leaving certificate subjects two of which must be Math’s and a language (English or Irish) Leaving cert APPLIED is not suitable.
What key skills will make you great at the role? • Strong Interest in the relevant technical field (e.g. mechanical, electrical, automotive).
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Reliable, punctual and proactive
• Ability to work well in teams.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Basic computer literacy.
• Self-motivated, taking initiative when completing tasks assignments and learning.
