We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join an established public sector organisation. The Head of HR will provide strategic leadership for the people agenda, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, promoting a positive workplace culture, and supporting the delivery of organisational objectives through effective workforce planning, development, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead HR strategy, policies, and procedures aligned with organisational goals and public sector best practice.
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning.
* Ensure compliance with employment law, equality, diversity, and inclusion obligations.
* Lead employee relations, performance management, and trade union engagement.
* Develop training, professional development, and succession planning frameworks.
* Manage payroll and HR systems in line with governance requirements.
* Act as key advisor to the Executive Team and Board on people-related matters.
Qualifications & Experience
* CIPD qualification or equivalent HR professional accreditation.
* At least 7 years' senior HR management experience, ideally in the public or not-for-profit sector.
* Proven track record in employee relations and organisational development.
* Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR governance.
* Experience working with trade unions desirable.
