Overview
Sligo Tennis Club is a multi‑sport facility located on the outskirts of Sligo town, offering tennis (6 courts), badminton & pickleball (5 courts in a shared hall), squash (4 courts) and cricket (indoor hall), as well as a large function room (unlicensed). The position is a permanent, fixed‑time role (35 hours per week) reporting to the club president and management committee officers.
Responsibilities
* Membership renewals and growth
* Responding to member queries
* Setting up events and coaching for each sport’s captains via the club app throughout the year
* Preparing monthly accounts information for the club treasurer to review
* Facilities maintenance & upgrade supervision
* Developing fundraising initiatives, including grant applications, to future‑proof the facility
* Marketing the club and coaching programmes through the website and social media platforms, particularly during the upcoming rebranding
* Ensuring all coach safeguarding and vetting information is up to date
* Managing affiliations with the relevant sports bodies
* Assisting club captains in running their individual tournaments throughout the year
* Managing function room bookings and coordinating the club calendar
* Performing any other tasks required to facilitate the smooth running of the club
Qualifications
* Proven experience managing a sports facility
* Experience with a sports software package (we use Smart Club) and the MS Office suite
* Social media and marketing skills
* Keen attention to detail
* Ideas on how to grow and develop all sports offered at Sligo Tennis Club
Additional Information
As a club where members play in evenings and weekends, there will be some evening and weekend work required for the successful candidate.
