Purpose:An exceptional opportunity for an experienced EHS Specialist to join our client's Environmental Health & Safety team. You will provide technical guidance to the site as well as ongoing projects to ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements related to safety as well as our company's corporate standards, policies, procedures and guidelines and industry best practices.Responsibilities:SME support in General Safety and High Risk Work ProgramsSME support in Environmental Programs (Air, water, waste)Provide safety support for new ongoing and new projectsParticipate in local safety teams, audits and inspections, incident investigations, and other safety programs as requiredEHS representative for risk assessments, change management impact assessments, training delivery, and contractor managementEHS Assessment and auditing of EHS process and systems in line with MSD Global Safety and Environment StandardsReport out weekly to management and department teams on KPIs in line with EHS objectives/targets (planned vs. actual performanceServe as a leader in demonstrating and implementing a strong EHS culture across the siteThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record to influence others, have strong knowledge of safety programs and be a convincing communicator with strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate is a self-directed, technically strong individual who can work in a multi-functionary team environmentQualificationsBachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or related Safety or Environmental field of study+7 years of EHS, Engineering, or Operational experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, petrochemical, or process related industryIn Depth Knowledge of Irish H&S and Environmental Legislation and regulationsHigh Risk Work program (Electrical safety, LOTO, Hot work, confined space etc) and Contractor Management experience beneficialAbility to maintain focus on key goals and priorities, but also analyse the detail to facilitate problem resolution and ensure project successProven record of success in the EHS sector.Experience on supporting multiple activities/projects.Experience in managing and implementing change.Strong ability to influence others across departments and at all levels of the organization'Safety First' mind-set.
