About Your New Job
* Overall Accountability
: As the IE Digital Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for building and leading the Engineering group locally, encompassing Architecture, Development, Systems Portfolio, and SRE domains. You will act as a local ambassador of the 'build once, reuse multiple times' concept.
* Stakeholder Management
: Manage local CIO and Commercial Heads, ensuring tight interlock and exceptional stakeholder management. Drive industry best practices in a global engineering capability, balancing local backlog delivery and global re-use and collaboration.
* Team Leadership
: Build and lead a capable and empowered team of engineers, connecting across multiple markets with a shared, clear vision. Manage local sourcing strategy and strategic vendor relationships to achieve goals of innovation, speed, and efficiency.
* Financial Management
: Own end-to-end local finances of digital deliveries, including internal Capex/Opex and the management of supplier commercials. Ensure adherence to Digital Performance KPIs and DORA Metrics.
* Agile Delivery
: Create Scaled Agile Delivery practice, defining agile principles and ways of working in the market, including Product Increment planning and governance. Connect global Software Engineering Acceleration initiatives across markets.
What Skills You Need
* Domain Expertise
: Proven track record of leading engineering teams with an in-depth understanding of technologies, processes, and architecture required for delivering high-quality digital products at pace. Extensive experience in one or more key engineering domains (e.g., app, web, chat, SRE, or cloud engineering).
* Agile/Digital Experience
: Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including multiple delivery methodologies. Experience in establishing scaled agile delivery teams, including setting up the concept of Release Trains and associated Release Train Engineers (RTEs).
* Leadership Skills
: Strong leadership skills, including team engagement, influence, communications, and relationship building. Ability to work in a matrix organization with one direct line and 1+ dotted lines.
* Technical Qualifications
: Excellent Programme and Portfolio management skills, Agile and Scrum Experience.
