We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.Varian Proton Therapy Field Service Engineers provide highly visible customer support with a customer site dedicated team and is responsible for the overall on-site operation, maintenance and performance of the Proton Therapy System.This is an onsite position in Lancaster, PA.Shift RequirementsPosition requires you to be available to work one of the following types of shifts, depending on assigned location:1st or 2nd, 8 hrs./day M-FRotating WeekendsVarian Proton Therapy Systems Utilize The Following SubsystemsHigh VacuumCryogenics and Superconducting MagnetsHigh Voltage applications, AC and DCRF Power Delivery SystemX-ray with Computed TomographyIndustrial Robots and Motion ControlIndustrial PLC ControlsRadiation DosimetryResponsibilitiesMaintain a high degree of professional knowledge and safety consciousness according to VMS guidelines to perform activities under the safest working conditions.Provide highly visible customer support including assisting our customer in the operation of the system.Serve as a company liaison with the customer on technical and/or administrative matters.Perform all operational quality checks including planned maintenance in a timely manner.Provide accurate, detailed and concise field service reports.Complete required assignments, Service Technical Bulletins and Upgrades in a timely manner.Complete mandatory training assignments and certifications on time to maintain FDA compliance.Become proficient in the use of internal software applications for both the business and Proton System such as Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Salesforce, Siemens PLC GUI and Varian Treatment Control applications.Be responsible for and/or support other field service site roles such as Site Safety Coordinator, Spare Parts Inventory Controller or Radiation Safety Coordinator.Meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law.Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN)Criminal background checksDrug screensImmunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus)Annual TB testingHealthcare trainings (provided by Varian)Up to 30% travel may be expected.Minimum Required Skills And KnowledgeAssociate’s degree in an Engineering Technologies field of study OR 2 Years of prior applicable experience in military or high tech industry.Must be able to occasionally work at heights above 20 feet or in cramped spaces.Fluency in English, both written and spoken.Must have a customer focused attitude.Ability to troubleshoot using technical drawings and root cause methodologies.Demonstrate intermediate level of knowledge in mechanical tooling such as torque wrenches, precision gauges & levels, vernier scales, calipers, micrometers, drills, saws, taps, dies, lubrication, and adhesives.Show intermediate knowledge in electrical tooling such as digital multimeter, oscilloscopes, circuit/component tooling, soldering.Other Desired Skills And KnowledgeFluency in German, written and spoken.Fundamental knowledge of computer and network systems.Previous experience in a high tech industry or military technical support roles.BenefitsMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k) retirement planLife insuranceLong-term and short-term disability insurancePaid parking/public transportationPaid time off, paid sick and safe timeBase Pay Range for This PositionFactors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.Commission eligibility and compensation terms are in accordance with the company’s plan.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementSiemens Healthineers is an Equal Opportunity and affirmative action employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
