Job Description
Are you a Pipefitter looking for a change in your career? Rockwell is currently recruiting experienced Pipefitters to join an exciting mechanical engineering project in the Cork region on a full‑time basis.
Responsibilities
Reading and interpreting drawings to select type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders according to job specifications.
Observes and complies with all safety and project rules, company policies, and procedures; inspects the worksite to determine presence of obstructions.
Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
Proficient in all pipefitting tasks, including measuring and cutting pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine to accurate dimensions.
Bends pipe by hand or with pipe‑bending tools and machines.
M mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to secure pipe.
Assembly and installation of a variety of metal or non‑metal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indications of leaks.
Welds pipe supports to structural steel members.
Uses tools, including power tools, and equipment.
Loads, transports, and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
Maintains and checks own small tools and equipment.
Works both inside and outside.
Performs other duties as required.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
Possess a craft qualification certificate.
Experience in a similar role within a mechanical contracting environment.
Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi‑functional team.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
Own transport is required.
