Strategic purpose of the position: This position is responsible for development and implementation of Indirect Tax planning and compliance improvement initiatives.
The role also requires an active role as a member of the global tax team within the relationships of the group entities in different countries as well as in the matters such as group structure, transfer pricing, implementation of new projects/programs to the group.
Job responsibilities Ongoing research to indirect tax legislative and regulatory changes with regard to impact to the Shein business.
Developing initiative and process/business changes necessary to adhere to those regulatory requirements.
Working in partnership with cross functional business teams for development and implementation of key strategic business changes, routes to market and reorganisations.
Managing all indirect tax related communications with tax authorities including regular meetings with tax authorities and lead internal teams to handle tax litigation in a tax-efficient manner.
Working with external and internal compliance teams to ensure robust and complete compliance infrastructure and data quality.
Partner with business finance, legal, Treasury, accounting and other functions to communicate, execute, protect and fund various initiatives which aim to ultimately maximize cash for the corporation.
Collaboration with corporate and regional tax on international projects.
Experienced and energetic finance professional with a passion to make a difference.
He/She should be a true team player with very good communication and people skills.
Demonstrates an ability to develop relationships across an enterprise in a heavily matrixed environment.
Demonstrates thought leadership ability to communicate complicated tax matters across all levels of the organization in a value driven manner.
Relevant professional tax and/or accounting qualification.
Fluent in English.
Chinese is advantageous but not a requirement.
Educational / minimum requirements: At least 10 years of indirect tax experience, big 4 experience is plus.
