OverviewConsultant - Strategic Validation Testing (Hybrid) – Northern Trust. The company provides innovative financial services and guidance to clients worldwide, guided by service, expertise, and integrity.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate control assessment expertise (stemming from internal audit/control testing/issue validation experience)Draft, design and execute a quality control/validation testing plan.Ensure high quality workpaper standards and documentation that clearly supports testing reviews and explains decisions, including judgement applied.Identify and analyze risks, plan and prioritize validation tasks for on-time delivery; conduct interviews, observe operations, document and analyze processes and controlsExecute assigned regulatory validation projects and deliverables to ensure work is performed promptly and accuratelyDevelop an understanding of business risks, controls, processes, and relevant laws/regulatory rules, and the impact of systems within areas reviewedEstablish and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders; escalate issues and propose paths forwardCommunicate effectively to influence a wide range of stakeholdersDemonstrate initiative, project management, people skills, sound decision-making, and cultural sensitivityDisplay presentation and influence skillsQualificationsProven experience in financial services, within a financial institution, or similar consultancy experience in the financial services industryDirect internal audit or testing experienceTest plan writing and execution: ability to draft and execute a formal quality control/validation testing plan aligned with risk profile, regulatory requirements, and risk trendsStrong initiative, analytical and intuitive mindset, political awareness, and cultural sensitivityExperience delivering high-quality internal testing programs for large businesses or regulated environmentsAbility to address critical issues and realign priorities as neededAbility to form evaluative judgments based on analysis of information in complex situationsSuperior analytical and organizational skills; ability to multitask and adapt to changesExcellent written and oral communication with all levels of staff and managementProfessional certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA with relevant capabilities are advantageousWorking With UsAs a Northern Trust partner, you will be part of a flexible and collaborative work culture.
