Role Overview
We're looking for a hands-on
IT Field Service Engineer
to support the setup, maintenance, and decamp of our construction sites across
Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe
. This is a field-based, fast-paced role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in quality work, and thrives in varied environments.
You'll be part of a close-knit IT team ensuring every site is fully equipped, connected, and operating to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Site Setup & Decamp:
Install, configure, and decommission IT infrastructure across active and completed construction sites.
* On-Site Support:
Deliver hands-on support for devices, connectivity, and end-user issues at multiple locations.
* Hardware Installation:
Deploy and maintain laptops, printers, routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and mobile devices.
* Maintenance:
Conduct regular site checks, preventive maintenance, and system verifications.
* Incident Response:
Act as the on-site escalation point for IT issues, resolving quickly and effectively.
* Documentation:
Maintain accurate records, asset registers, network diagrams, and site checklists.
* Collaboration:
Work closely with central IT and Service Desk teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Compliance:
Adhere to ITIL processes, security policies, and site safety standards.
* Continuous Improvement:
Suggest and implement improvements to enhance performance and user experience.
Key Requirements
* Full Driving License:
Must be able to drive a van and travel across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
* Physically Fit:
Comfortable moving and setting up IT equipment on-site (racks, devices, cabling, etc.).
* Technical Knowledge:
* Strong general IT skills (Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, basic networking, hardware deployment).
* Understanding of device imaging, patching, and configuration management.
* Familiarity with Meraki/Cisco systems or similar beneficial (training provided).
* Communication:
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively on busy construction sites.
* Confident communicator who can adapt their approach to different audiences.
* Teamwork:

Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
(or equivalent hands-on experience in IT support / infrastructure roles).
* Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a field-based or on-site IT support role.
* Desirable Certifications:
CompTIA A+ / Network+, Cisco (CCNA), or Microsoft certifications.
* Experience with ITIL-aligned environments and service management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
* Valid passport for travel across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
