Job Description
The role of Clinical/Educational Psychologist involves delivering expert psychological services to children and their families within an interdisciplinary framework.
The post holder will operate under the strategic direction of senior management and collaborate with psychology colleagues and other professionals, as a member of the interdisciplinary team, to provide an integrated and coordinated service to children and their families.
* Provide consultation and support programmes for parents and families as appropriate.
* Prepare and submit reports and information to relevant stakeholders, refer to other professionals; liaise with educational institutions and external agencies as required.
* Attend and participate in critical meetings and case conferences.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in Psychology, complemented by an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland, or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
They must also demonstrate competence in the applied field and have acquired at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification, or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist.
