Our mission is to exhibit, preserve, and educate, giving audiences across Ireland access to exceptional independent, Irish, and international cinema and safeguarding the nation's moving-image heritage through the Irish Film Archive.From our home on Eustace Street in Temple Bar, we welcome diverse audiences to our cinemas, Archive research facilities, IFI Film Shop, and IFI Café Bar. We also deliver an expanding range of digital platforms, including, IFI Player,, and IFI International.Joining the IFI means becoming part of a team passionate about culture, creativity, and people.The OpportunityWe're looking for an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to join our HR team. In this role, you'll work closely with the Head of HR, Administrative Assistant to the CEO and Head of HR and employees across the organisation to deliver our People Plan and embed good practice throughout the IFI. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and building strong relationships across a unique cultural organisation. The HR Business Partner will primarily support our Front of House functions, including Café Bar and Box Office, working closely with managers and employees to provide practical, people-centred, HR support in fast-paced, customer facing environments. The role will also act as cover for the Head of HR when required, ensuring continuity of HR support across the organisation.ResponsibilitiesPartner SupportBuild strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across your business areas.Provide day-to-day guidance on people matters and encourage early, effective interventions.Ensure consistent and confident application of HR policies.Support the update and rollout of people policies and related communications.Employee RelationsCoach managers and employees on a range of employee relations issues.Lead on employee relations case management where required, advising on approach, documentation, and risk mitigation.Prepare recommended next steps and escalate cases appropriately to the Head of HR.Recruitment OnboardingPartner with hiring managers on selection decisions and help ensure an inclusive hiring process.Participate in interview panels where appropriate.Lead an engaging, inclusive, and structured onboarding experience.Ensure managers understand and follow their onboarding responsibilities.Oversee probation processes and ensure objectives and reviews are completed on time.Ensure all induction and mandatory training requirements are met.Wellbeing, Development CultureSupport initiatives that promote wellbeing and psychological safety.Contribute to organisation-wide learning, development, engagement and EDI initiatives.Regularly review the employee lifecycle to identify improvements in engagement, communication, and wellbeing.Contribute to staff surveys and support the translation of insights into meaningful action plans.Provide workforce data and insights, identifying trends and proposing interventions.Projects and HR OperationsSupport the Head of HR on a range of HR projects including workforce planning, wellbeing programme delivery, equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, culture and values projects, HR communications and data analysis and reporting.Provide flexible support across the organisation when required to ensure effective cover and continuity within HR.Skills And ExperiencePrevious senior HR advisory or HR Business Partner experience and a relevant HR qualification.Experience providing HR support within a hospitality, customer-facing or similar operational environment would be a strong advantage.Strong understanding of Irish employment law and confidence handling complex employee relations issues.Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, challenge and coach others.Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative, supportive HR team.Experience in cultural or non-profit sectors is an advantage but not essential.Benefits: Hybrid working, enhanced sick pay, pension scheme, bike to work scheme, complimentary IFI cinema tickets, IFI Café Bar and IFI film shop discounts, extensive neighbourhood discounts.The IFI is an Equal Opportunities Employer, and we welcome applications from all communities.
