Incorporate new knowledge and technologies to enhance the performance and reliability of AI-optimized optical networks.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with business partners and other teams across Azure to ensure 24x7 coverage of the operations of our dark fiber assets.QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications: 9+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automationOR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years of relevant experienceOR Master's Degree in relevant fields AND 4+ years of relevant experienceOR Doctorate Degree in relevant fields AND 3+ years of relevant experienceOther Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years.Additional or Preferred Qualifications: 15+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent educational qualifications with relevant experienceExperience delivering network designs into production and live site accountabilityExperience with hollow core or multi-core fiber and cables5+ years of experience with optical transceiver design, validation, and testing using coherent, direct-detection, and WDM technologiesDeep understanding of fiber network technologies, including solid core and hollow core fiberExperience with DevOps practices and fostering continuous improvement cultureMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer.
