Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician in Aurivo Dairy Ingredients. This position represents an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to work within one of Irelands leading multidisciplined Cooperatives. The successful candidate will be as part of a closeknit team reporting to the sites Quality Manager.
Chemical Laboratory Duties:
* Perform analysis of milk powder, bulk and retail butter, and intermediate products (e.g. moisture, protein, fat, wettability, sediment, coffee stability).
* Conduct yoghurt functionality testing (e.g. viscosity, pH, sensory analysis).
* Submit and crosstest weekly samples for external analysis.
* Maintain chemical analysis in a state of audit readiness and represent the lab during audits.
Microbiology Laboratory Duties:
* Conduct microbiological testing of milk powder, butter, and services for specification compliance.
* Ensure regulatory compliance with GMP standards and agencies (e.g. Department of Agriculture, BRC).
* Provide microbiological expertise to support functions and assess product/process changes.
* Represent microbiology in meetings and project teams.
* Maintain microbiology in a state of audit readiness and represent the lab during audits.
General Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with all laboratory and plantwide procedures.
* Provide timely and accurate information to production and operations teams.
* Communicate and report results daily to the Quality Manager.
* Support continuous improvement and teamwork aligned with Aurivo's Quality Policy.
* Work flexible hours as required, including one weekend day during peak production periods.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Good verbal and communication skills.
* Experience user of Microsoft Good time management & organisational skills
* High level of attention to detail
* Have a professional manner with regards to their work tasks and their interaction with fellow colleagues.
Requirements:
* Qualification in a Food Science discipline.
* Preferably 1 2 years' experience within the Food Industry.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good leadership abilities.
* Decisionmaking ability coupled with the ability to work on one's own initiative, and with the minimum of supervision is required.
