This standalone role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape the safety culture of our organisation and take ownership of the Health and Safety function.
Working closely with the Group General Manager, you will play a vital role in upholding legislative and internal standards, reducing risk, preventing accidents, and fostering a culture of awareness, prevention, and accountability.
Day-to-day of the role: Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations across all departments.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain safety standards.
Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Identify potential hazards and recommend preventative measures.
Participate in monthly meetings, presenting relevant Health & Safety data.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and suggest corrective actions.
Ensure that all health and safety documentation is up to date, including policies, procedures, and audits.
Deliver health and safety training and induction sessions to staff and contractors.
Act as the key point of contact for external health and safety authorities and ensure compliance with all legislation.
Maintain records of safety-related incidents and produce statistics for management.
Support the development of emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
Ensure appropriate PPE is provided and used properly.
Stay up to date with new legislation and industry best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar health and safety role.
Demonstrable experience of carrying out Risk Assessments.
Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Proficient in the use of MS Office software.
