Job Description
The Manager of Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance and Reliability is responsible for leading and coordinating a team of skilled technicians and engineers supporting manufacturing operations. This role ensures optimal performance of production equipment, processes, and systems to meet production, quality, and safety standards. The manager will drive continuous improvement, oversee troubleshooting, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support efficient manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a team of technicians and engineers
* Establish cross-training plans for technical skill redundancy
* Oversee daily technical support activities to maximize equipment efficiency
* Develop and optimize maintenance programs and troubleshooting protocols
* Collaborate on new equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements
* Monitor KPIs such as equipment uptime and technician productivity
* Manage service contracts and external vendors
* Ensure safety and compliance with regulations and standards
* Manage staffing, training, and development across two shifts
* Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and procedures
* Establish proactive reliability and maintenance schedules
* Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Experience with calibration and validation practices preferred
Qualifications (Required)
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
* Minimum of 6 years experience in a manufacturing environment

* Leadership or supervisory experience
* Experience in a regulated industry
* Technical management and mentoring skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and support systems
* Financial acumen related to equipment management
* Experience managing small teams and employee relations
* Ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally
* Attention to detail and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
