Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) is a model 4, voluntary, academic teaching hospital partnered with Trinity College and situated in south west Dublin.

Purpose of the role:
The Grade VI Clerical Manager in Radiology will be responsible for management of the Radiology Clerical team under their supervision, to ensure the smooth running of clerical services within Radiology in TUH main Radiology Department and the Primary Care Radiology Department.
The Grade VI will support the Radiology Clinical Director and Radiography Services Managers in relation to clerical services.
Overview of role:
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support the Radiography Services Managers in relation to radiology clerical services
Manage the clerical teams within the hospital's main radiology department and the primary care centre radiology department
Ensure the smooth operation of clerical services within the radiology directorate
Engage with HR for recruitment of clerical staff for the radiology directorate
Manage staff rosters to ensure adequate clerical coverage
Liaise with HR on grievances and disciplinary matters
Work with the RSMs to ensure the administrative function is within budget, developing business cases for new or replacement pay and non-pay items
Manage CORE for all clerical staff within the radiology directorate
Provide updates for weekly and monthly TUH/HSE reports as requested
Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Radiography Services Managers on initiatives within the directorate
Participate in waiting list management and escalate issues appropriately
Promote continuing education for clerical staff
Ensure staff understand the importance of quality and work to standards
Handle patient advocacy queries
Perform any other duties as assigned
Work effectively as part of a team delivering high-quality radiology services
Qualifications & Experience required
Must have at least Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent, or passed an equivalent QQI qualification (Fetac Level 5)
Four years' relevant experience, including administration in the health sector or related industry
Minimum of 1 year supervisory/management experience
3rd level qualification in a relevant field
Practical IT skills, including NIMIS
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Willingness to attend HR management workshops
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Organised, detail-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Strong relationship-building skills, customer-focused, results-oriented
Desirable:
Experience with NIMIS
Experience in an acute hospital setting
Degree in a relevant field

Work hours: 35 hours/week over 5 days, with hours between 8 am and 8 pm, across 7 days as needed
