Special Care Worker Job Description
Caregivers play a crucial role in providing support to vulnerable young people in need of special care services. As a Special Care Worker, you will work with children aged between 11 and 17 years in a therapeutic environment that prioritizes their safe care.
This challenging yet rewarding role involves developing and implementing Care and Placement Plans, promoting the rights of each young person and their physical, emotional, social, and educational welfare. Key responsibilities include:
* Participating in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for the young people in your care.
* Promoting the rights and dignity of each individual, recognizing their unique needs and circumstances.
* Fostering a supportive environment that encourages the physical, emotional, social, and educational growth of each young person.
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum QQI Level 7 in Social Care or a related qualification. Relevant experience is also highly valued. Tusla has delegated sanction to recruit up to point 5 of the salary scale, taking into account prior years of relevant study and/or experience.
