Job Overview:
The role of a Procurement Specialist is essential in supporting the company's overall programme from a procurement aspect, working closely with the team. This experienced professional will have knowledge of the medical device development industry and excellent communication skills.
Main Responsibilities:
* Analyzing build plans to make informed decisions regarding purchase order quantity, delivery date, and inventory levels
* Negotiating optimal pricing and lead times with suppliers
* Expediting material deliveries to meet build plan requirements
* Booking deliveries onto the purchasing system
* Issuing materials to production
* Maintaining computerized purchasing databases, investigating inventory discrepancies, and resolving invoice/delivery/receiving issues
* Monitoring supplier performance and setting up key performance metrics (KPIs)
* Collaborating with R&D on supplier/material selection
* Working with internal stakeholders to address material or quality issues
* Conducting supplier risk assessments to ensure continuous supply of materials
* Finding innovative ways to reduce costs
* Following established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Requirements:
* Minimum three years' experience in a professional buying position along with experience in material management
* Experience working in a GMP/Medical Device environment
* Experience in the purchase and management of different material commodities
* Experience in purchasing, supplier relations, material planning, and inventory management
* Proficient understanding of MRP
* Familiarity with product specifications
* Strong influencing and negotiating skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Effective verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
