We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant/Technician to join our finance team in a key phase of business growth.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Manage and reconcile purchase and sales ledgers to ensure accurate financial reporting
* Process CIS subcontractor payments and returns, adhering to regulatory requirements
* Prepare and post supplier payments, maintaining efficient cash flow management
* Assist with monthly financial and management reporting, providing insightful analysis and recommendations
* Maintain and monitor creditors and debtors ledgers, ensuring timely payment and minimizing financial risks
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and other HMRC filings, meeting statutory deadlines
* Liaise with group finance on intercompany transactions, fostering effective collaboration and communication
About You: Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* At least 2 years' experience in a similar accounts role, with a strong background in accounting principles and practices
* Experience with CIS subcontractors, VAT returns, and ledger maintenance, demonstrating technical expertise
* Previous experience in a group company or larger organisational structure is desirable, showcasing adaptability and teamwork skills
* Background in construction or engineering industries is advantageous, highlighting sector-specific knowledge and experience
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas
* Experience using Sage 50, Sage 200, or similar software is desirable, demonstrating technical proficiency
