We are currently seeking an experienced
Person in Charge (PIC)
to lead a residential social care service in Kyle, County Kilkenny. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the governance, management, and regulatory compliance of the service in line with
HIQA standards
and relevant legislation.
As
Person in Charge
, you will have overall accountability for the safe and effective operation of the designated centre.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing leadership, governance, and operational oversight of the service
* Ensuring compliance with
HIQA regulations
, the Health Act 2007, and the Statement of Purpose
* Leading and managing staff teams, including recruitment, supervision, training, and performance management
* Overseeing safeguarding practices, care planning, risk management, and incident management
* Acting as
DLP
* Preparing for and responding to HIQA inspections
* Liaising with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
* A minimum of
Level 7 on the QQI Framework
, e.g. BA in Social Care Studies, Social Care Management, or an equivalent relevant qualification in Health or Social Care
* A
postgraduate qualification
in Social Care Management or a recognised Management qualification
(desirable)
* At least
3 years' senior management experience
at a similar level of responsibility, including demonstrable experience in
strategic planning
* A minimum of
5 years' experience
within the
health, social care, or voluntary sector
* CORU registered or in the process*
