Due to ongoing expansion, they are now strengthening their maintenance support team with the hire of a new Automation Engineer. The Role: Reporting to the Senior Automation Engineer, this role focuses on supporting and maintaining the electrical and automation systems across the site. From troubleshooting PLCs to implementing preventive maintenance routines and contributing to continuous improvement projects, this role provides broad exposure and hands-on learning in a dynamic manufacturing setting. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of automation equipment. Troubleshooting and upgrading PLCs and control systems. Supporting the development and upkeep of electrical and automation documentation. Conducting preventative maintenance across electrical, control, and networking systems. Liaising with the stores team to manage spare parts and inventory (using PEMAC system). Supporting plant upgrades, overhauls, and project work. Assisting in the development of production reporting systems via PLC data. Staying up-to-date with new technologies and systems. The Person: You are an enthusiastic and practical individual with a background in automation, mechatronics, or industrial maintenance, ready to grow and apply your knowledge in a hands-on environment. This role is open to graduate candidates looking to begin their career in a trainee role, as well as candidates who carry a number of years experience to date and want to continue their development. If you are a graduate, you will: hold a degree in automation (or related field), electronic engineering, or mechatronics. For experienced candidates, you will arrive with: Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills in electrical and control systems. Experience with PLCs, SCADA, VSDs, HMIs, and industrial machinery. Programming knowledge for logic controllers and automation systems. All candidates must have: Good computer literacy and an eagerness to learn new technologies. A safety-first mindset and strong attention to detail. Willingness to work on-call and support cross-functional maintenance tasks.
