Environmental Specialist (Hybrid)

Based in Kildare, this is a standout opportunity to work with one of Ireland's most established and future-focused companies, delivering EIAR and Appropriate Assessments on a wide portfolio of renewable energy infrastructure projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities for Environmental Specialist (Hybrid)
1. Lead the full EIA process, delivering EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale renewable energy projects.
2. Provide environmental planning expertise to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policy.
3. Keep updated on environmental legislation and planning developments at local and national level.
4. Support stakeholder engagement and consultations with local communities, statutory and non-statutory bodies.
5. Prepare technical scopes for third-party services and assist with procurement processes.
6. Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices across all projects.
7. Mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous professional development within the team.
8. Collaborate with colleagues across Planning, Engineering and Senior Management to meet strategic business goals.
Requirements for Environmental Specialist (Hybrid)
9. Level 8 Honours Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline (essential).
10. Minimum of 5 years' experience delivering EIAR and AA/NIS for major infrastructure projects.
11. Strong understanding of Irish planning law and environmental regulations.
12. Previous experience managing multidisciplinary teams in the EIA process.
13. Experience in renewables, SID projects, or environmental consultancy is highly desirable.
14. Postgraduate qualification and/or technical discipline (e.g. ecology, air quality, etc.) an advantage but not essential.
15. Strong communication, project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
