Reporting to the Lead Senior Cost Planner, the role of the Senior Cost Planner will be part of the Commercial Team based in Head Office. There will be the opportunity to work proactively and collaboratively with other members of the Evara team as we deliver new neighbourhoods and communities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious Cost Planner, PQS or Quantity Surveyor who wants to work on exciting residential projects.
Key Accountabilities
Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost plans and estimates for construction projects at various stages of design.
Budget Development: Assist in the development of project budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project scope.
Benchmarking & Analysis: Use current and historical data and market intelligence to benchmark costs and support value engineering exercises.
Tender Support: Collaborate with the bid team to provide cost input for tenders, including pricing strategies and risk allowances.
Design Coordination: Work closely with design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions are integrated into project designs.
Risk Management: Identify cost risks and opportunities and contribute to mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting: Produce cost reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and variances.
Making sure the design team remains aware of the most efficient unit types, project layouts, and building materials as they develop a scheme design.
Assist in developing / maintaining a databank of self-delivery construction costs to assist the ongoing Cost Estimation and Financial Appraisal process.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to gather cost data and ensure transparency in cost planning.
Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Experience: At least 7 years’ experience in cost planning, estimating, or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in cost planning software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft Cubit, Excel).
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Understanding of construction methods, materials, and market trends.
